Roses

Got two of these done today. Not happy about the flowers themselves and how they turned out but the stems and leaves make up for it . The stems are whipped chain stitches and the stems for the leaves are whipped running stitches. i never tried using the thicker thread before and I'm very pleased with how that came out and how quick it was to do it. The hardest part is not to rush through it. I think that's what went wrong with the flowers. I don't know if I can even use them in the quilt because they're so bumpy to try to sew onto the backing. I may have to use them for something else. I think I need to put the flower parts on afterwards , after all the panel has been constructed.Anyway , it was a gorgeous day with beautiful lighting and Nora Jones singing to me all day long as I worked on this.
