STRAW INTO GOLD / KRAZY QUILT II,the sequel

Just waiting for the muslin backing to dry. This morning I put my palette together for my second crazy quilt. There's silks and satins and velvets, but linen and cotton and just about any other fabric can go into one of these. I liked making the first one so much that I had to go for another. I don't know why I'm all thumbs at lining up points in quilting but I am. To me crazy quilting is free form. An interesting journey. Any beautiful piece of fabric is fair game to be used as long as it works in my palette.Chocolate and pumpkin coloured satin from my Quaker friend. A brand new silk dress from the thrift store(picked up for $8) A few prom dresses to boot. I measured out my muslin tearing it into strips that are about 10 in wide and a yard long. They can be trimmed later to be just the right size. There's 16 pieces of muslin to fill up with bits and snipets. It isn't an exact science, maybe that's why we mesh so well. There's plenty of margin for fixing a mistake here and there. And I'm not sure how it all with end. But that would ruin the surprise. This is my straw today.
